About Healesville
The Yarra Valley is best known for producing Chardonnay, Sparkling wine and Pinot Noir. Healesville is home to an abundance of local wine makers from the smaller, family run wineries to some of the larger scale commercial wineries. Wine tastings around every bend whether it be at a cosy cellar door, with lunch at one of the many restaurants or with a group on a winery tour bus, there is something here for every wine lover. Healesville is also now becoming known for other interesting drinks and fine foods with some stylish locations in which to sample and enjoy, as well as a selection of fashion and gift shops.
Sports fans can enjoy a round of golf at the RACV Country club, a game of Tennis at the Healesville Tennis club, or how about an afternoon at the races? Healesville has a picnic horse amateur racing club. Other sporting interests in the community include Aussie Rules Football, Soccer, Bowls, Greyhound Racing and swimming. Queen’s Park has a wonderful children’s playground, there are some nice walks around the area and near the river, and Maroondah Reservoir Park is on the outskirts of the town.
