About Broadford

Broadford is a small town in Victoria's central region. Broadford has a population of 4,319 people according to the 2016 census. The town is the administrative centre of the Shire of Mitchell local government area, and it is located about 73 kilometres north of Melbourne, the state capital.

Broadford is home to a primary school, a secondary college and two kindergartens. Also located here is the Victorian State Motorcycle Complex, catering to both road and off-road tracks, and hosts National riding events, and amateur track days. The town also hosts a football club, cricket club, golf club and lawn bowls.

The suburb also is host to an IGA supermarket, doctors, vet, CFA, Police station, a number of cafes and restaurants, a leisure centre with outdoor pool and a number of hotels and accommodation options.

Broadford has a host of sporting and leisure activity groups. You can play golf at the Broadford Golf Club and enjoy some lawn bowls. The Victorian State Motorcycle Complex is headquartered in Broadford. You can also join the local Australian Rules football club, cricket club or netball club.

There are two schools in Broadford:

Having Broadford train station is great – the V/Line train service runs at least once an hour and the M31 Hume Highway runs through the middle of Broadford. The local Broadford train station runs along the Shepparton and Seymour railway lines.
