About Soldiers Hill
The Town
Small in size but large in character, history, and beauty, Soldiers Hill is a suburb positioned just north of Ballarat’s famed CBD. The name of the suburb came about in 1859 during the area’s first residential land sales and was to honour the Colonial forces of Australia’s 40th Regiment who were stationed there prior to the Eureka Stockade.
Victorian era is the predominant architecture of many of the stunning period homes that line the streets of Soldiers Hill. All schooling and shopping bases are covered with its close proximity to the Ballarat Central, while a small yet enticing selection of restaurants only adds to the suburb’s alluring charm.
