Wantirna is close enough to the city to be convenient and get there in a timely manner, yet far enough to not be congested with traffic. The local shopping centre in Wantirna, Westfield Knox was occasionally used for the filming of TV show ‘Neighbours’.

Best streets: Amersham Drive, Wantirna is one of the best regarded streets with quiet leafy courts branching off offering large prestigious property that your friends and family will envy. The most sought after area in Wantirna is known as Regency Park due to its proximity to local Primary Schools, shops and its family neighbourhood feel.
Public transport: There are a number of buses along Burwood Highway, Stud and Boronia Road, not to mention the central bus hub at Westfield Knox which has direct links to Mitcham, Glen Waverley train stations.
Travel: The main roads that service the Wantirna area are Burwood & Mountain Highway, Stud and Boronia Road. In June 2007 travel time was definitely cut short with the opening of Eastlink if you were heading to the beach of CBD.
History: The name Wantirna is derived from the native meaning of "a babbling brook" in the area. Neighbouring suburbs include Bayswater, Heathmont, Vermont and Wantirna South.
