About Boronia
It is a tree-lined suburb with views of both the National Park and the City of Melbourne. There are also nature reserves and extensive bike paths and lanes.
Education is widely covered with five primary schools and one secondary school sitting within the Boronia boundaries.
One of the major selling points of Boronia is the easy access to all transport. The Boronia train line runs from Boronia to Melbourne CBD 7 days a week, a bus service provides public transport throughout the suburb and the tram service is only 15kms away.
Boronia Junction, a new shopping centre, was built between 2000 and 2001. AMF Bowling Centre, a handful of eateries, and a hairdresser are all located in Boronia Junction. Boronia has had a movie theatre for decades (although not continuously). Metro Cinemas first opened its doors in 2005. (in the former Village Cinemas complex in Dorset Square). Boronia has 11 restaurants, serving cuisines such as Indian, Thai, Malaysian, Chinese, and Italian. Boronia Village and Dorset Square are the other two shopping districts in Boronia (including Boronia Mall). The Boronia Chamber of Commerce also runs the Dorset Arcade and the Chandler Arcade.
