Vic started as a salesman with EJ Doherty Real Estate in 1970 (over 45 years ago), Doherty’s was established in Coburg in 1958.
Vic acquired the business with a partner in 1974 when it had two offices, Coburg and Ivanhoe. He and his wife Dianne had the vision to grow the business to 24 offices by the mid 80’s.
Vic was instrumental in transforming the business into a powerhouse real estate network throughout the North, Northeast and West of Melbourne.
In the late 90’s Vic was seeking opportunities to expand the network into the eastern suburbs of Melbourne having previously opened offices in Bulleen, Box Hill and Surrey Hills. He soon recognised the strategic advantages of merging two organisations and given the complimentary geographical spread of Barry Plant he approached Barry.
On 1 July 1999, the two groups merged to form Barry Plant Doherty.
Today Vic Care bases himself at the Corporate Head Office and continues to use his vast experience and skills to mentor and assist with the continued growth of the business.
