December sales continue to impress
For many Melbourne residents, there is an assumption that the arrival of December, (and the official start of Summer), is a signal that the activity levels in our property market will fall away as people’s focus turns to the festive season and holidays.
However, as we pointed out in OUR POST A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, this is not always the case, and the recent sales results by our team at Barry Plant Thomastown confirm this.
Here’s a cross-section of what’s been happening in the past couple of weeks:
- During the week we saw the final details confirmed on the sale of a much-loved Californian Bungalow at 41 George Street, Reservoir (pictured). Set on around 571sqm of land in the heart of Reservoir, this three-bedroom home attracted interest from a mix of renovators, builders and investors who all saw the future potential of this promising site.
- A few days before that, a three-bedroom single-level unit with two bathrooms at 21/68-92 McKimmies Road in Lalor found new owners. Being within walking distance of Lalor East Primary School and the shops at Lalor Plaza, this one drew the attention of several first home buyers, investors and downsizers before the SOLD sign went up during the week at $530,000.
- Not long before this sale, we saw another three-bedroom unit in Steeple Court, Epping also successfully sold. This property also featured a similarly high degree of convenience, as well as the unusual feature of having no Owner’s Corporation fees attached.
Results like these at this time of year provide further confirmation of what we have been saying for quite some time now, ie. there is clearly good buyer demand for property in our part of Melbourne. Importantly, we expect to see this continue as we head through the rest of Summer.
So if you would like to discuss your property plans with one of our team so that you can head into your upcoming celebrations with a clear plan and an increased level of certainty, you can give us a call this week at Barry Plant Thomastown on 9466 3233.
Cheers,
