There are those who may have assumed that the property market in Melbourne’s northern corridor would have started to ease up a little as we head towards the end of Spring and the change to Summer conditions.

However, this is clearly not the case if our team’s recent results are anything to go by, and the activity levels at Barry Plant Thomastown this week are a prime example.

As you may have seen on our social media channels during the week, we were due to auction an appealing three-bedroom home at 8 Linoak Avenue in Lalor this weekend. This property had an immediate impact from the moment it When you get that level of competition hit the market, combining a very comfortable lifestyle with a high degree of convenience to schools, parks and transport options.

The strong early interest from market entrants and investors produced an excellent early sale in the week prior to this week’s scheduled auction, with some very happy first home buyers emerging victorious. As you can see from the photo, moments like this tend to be a family affair, and this family certainly looked happy with the result.

Following on from this result, we then proceeded with the scheduled auction of a three-bedroom home at 36 Menzies Parade, Lalor. Being within a short walk of both Primary and Secondary schools, this potential-filled home also attracted a lot of buyer interest, whilst the car enthusiasts found extra interest in the double garage, double carport and additional workshop space. In fact we saw nine separate bidders competing on auction day, placing over 40 bids before the gavel fell at a remarkable $785,000, which was more than 20 percent above our happy vendor’s reserve!

When you get that level of competition at this time of year, it’s clear that there is still plenty of built-up momentum in our local market! Indeed, results like these will have a lot of local homeowners rethinking what they could achieve when they’re ready to sell their own property.

So if you would like to discuss your own property plans, whether you may be thinking of making a move before the end of the year or perhaps in early 2025, be sure to give us a call this week at Barry Plant Thomastown on 9466 3233.

We’d love to be of assistance.

Regards,

Con Constantinou
