Business Development Manager

About the Role:

As a Property Management Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth by generating quality leads for our rent roll. You will build relationships with third parties, create ongoing referral opportunities, and develop a pipeline of growth leads from both internal and external sources.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation & Client Acquisition:

  • Actively market and attract new clients to expand the rental portfolio.
  • Utilise social media and other marketing strategies to identify targets.
  • Follow up on all rental appraisals.
  • Maintain and manage a prospective client database.

Networking & Relationship Building:

  • Arrange and attend promotional events, networking activities, and client rewards programs.
  • Build relationships with local businesses, tradespeople, developers, and the community.
  • Develop networks with accountants, lawyers, mortgage brokers, and contractors.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with the Sales team for leads and opportunities.
  • Attend sales meetings, auctions, and open for inspections to provide rental market updates and feedback.
  • Follow up on appraisals and prospective leads from sales events.

Marketing & Presentation:

  • Develop and deliver presentations to potential clients.
  • Regularly review and improve listing presentations.
  • Ensure marketing materials are available at relevant events and effectively communicate with attendees.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Track and report on properties, clients, growth, and marketing activities.
  • Adhere to compliance standards and safety requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold privacy legislation requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in sales and customer service.
  • Real estate experience is beneficial, but not required.

Technical Skills:

  • Good computer skills including word processing programs (Google Docs &/or Word), spreadsheets (Google Sheets &/or Excel), mail merging.
  • Experienced with CRM systems and email marketing.
  • Knowledge and experience in industry-related software systems such as realhub, Core Logic etc would be advantageous.
  • Fast learner with the willingless to learn new programs/systems.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • High attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Professional presentation and service-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and resilience.

Requirements:

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Current Victorian Driver's Licence and access to a motor vehicle.
  • Current Police Check.
  • Cert IV in Real Estate Practice, or willingness to undertake this qualification on commencement in this role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Office-based position with periods of desk work.
  • Ability to drive to offsite appointments as required.
