More records tumble as Spring comes to a close
It may have been the final day of the Spring auction season for 2019, but that didn’t mean there was any indication of a slow-down in the strong buyer demand we have been reporting in recent months.
Indeed, the team at Barry Plant Gladstone Park was able to achieve yet another 100% auction success rate for our vendors, with all three of this week’s scheduled auctions selling well above their reserves, and one setting a new price record for its estate.
Some of this week’s notable results occurred in:
Attwood: Sprawled across a manicured 652sqm block in the heart of the older part of Attwood, a three-bedroom home at 5 Victor Place saw two strong bidders go at it from the word ‘go’. This auction was declared ‘on the market’ at $580,000, but the bidding continued all the way to $602,000, a great result for our happy vendors.
Greenvale: The Greenvale Gardens Estate saw a new record price set for a home without a swimming pool when a stunning two-storey home at 34 Emily Street was sold prior to auction. Having also been responsible for the sale that set the record for a home with a pool in this area, our team was thrilled to be able to negotiate a very satisfying sale prior to this weekend’s scheduled auction at a remarkable $945,000. As you can see from the photo, both buyers and vendors seemed thrilled with the result.
Westmeadows: The strength of the entry-level market that we mentioned in LAST WEEK'S UPDATE was clearly demonstrated again this week at the auction of an elevated three-bedroom home just metres from the Attwood border at 170 Erinbank Crescent. Tastefully updated by our vendors, this appealing home saw five bidders competing, with the final sale price of $525,000 being well in excess of expectations.
The other ‘result’ that has really got people talking was the launch onto the market this week of an extraordinary architect-designed home in Attwood. More akin to your favourite 6-star holiday resort than a family home, the striking luxury residence at 7 Bateman Street has certainly caused a stir, so be sure to check it out by CLICKING HERE.
