First home buyers still active in Hume
There’s been a lot of talk recently about the impact that the recent interest rate rises have had on those buyers entering the market for the first time, and whether this group of buyers has been impacted more than some others.
Here in the City of Hume we regularly work with market entrants, so it’s been interesting to objectively watch what’s been happening in our local area to see if there have been major changes…and it seems to us that if there has been a change, it’s been a minor one.
For example, this weekends auctions saw competitive bidding from five separate groups of first home buyers, and there were several others in attendance that didn’t get the chance to raise their hands, so this segment of the market certainly seems to be active right now.
A prime example of first home buyer activity at the moment involved our auction this week of a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Malta Road, Craigieburn (pictured).
Offered in near new condition, and enhanced by quality fixtures and fittings throughout, this single-level home on a low maintenance block attracted good levels of buyer inquiries and made a positive impression on those who visited to inspect the property at our Open Houses.
As a result of this positive buyer response, this week’s auction saw the SOLD sign go up at a very satisfying $630,000.
With several more exciting homes scheduled for auction over the coming weeks, along with an intriguing choice of new listings hitting the market in the past week or so, there are certainly some exciting opportunities in front of home buyers in the City of Hume right now.
With this mind, if you’d like any assistance or advice on making your own property dreams come true in the coming months, feel free to give our team at Barry Plant Gladstone Park a call this week on 9330 1088.
