With the Grand Final now behind us, however, we need to acknowledge that we are now at a point in the year where there are very few distractions ahead for anyone planning on buying, selling or both before the end of 2024.

Not that the football has ever been a genuine distraction for someone who is keen on a particular property, as we saw this week when our one and only auction on the morning of the Grand Final achieved an excellent result, confirming another 100 per cent auction success result for our vendors.

Offering two bedrooms and a stand-alone study, this good looking home attracted interest from a mix of first home buyers, local downsizers and investors before the auction contacts were inked at $700,000.

A result like this is reflective of the positive buyer demand we have been reporting for quite some time now in our part of Melbourne, which is good news for anyone considering selling before the end of 2024. However, it is important to keep in mind that there are now around ten weekends left in the year before the approach of Christmas and the holiday season is likely to start impacting on buyer activity. So the earlier you get the wheels in motion, the better your prospects are likely to look.
