Today’s sunshine made for a very welcome change as buyers and sellers alike celebrated the RBAs decision to place a hold on interest rates.

Buyers competed with vigour, with one of our auctions attracting 6 bidders and 58 bids before being knocked down. Interesting that the property they were vying for was a potential corner development site. Developers are often seen as the litmus test within the property market. If they are buying, it shows a real sense that they feel that prices are about to rise.

With July being a record listing month for the Barry Plant Eastern group, there will be a fine selection of properties from which buyers can choose. During a talk she gave to the Barry Plant team during the week, she explained that once interest rates are cut, everyone piles on and the market moves very quickly.
