Commentary regarding the state of Melbourne’s real estate market may have had a negative flavour of late, however a new report released by realestate.com.au reveals that the Melbourne market will strengthen as 2018 progresses, particularly suburbs in Melbourne’s North East.

According to the Property Outlook report, house prices in Melbourne dropped three per cent during the past quarter, however as the report explains, buyer demand across several suburbs remains very strong and will prove to be the driving force behind prices continuing to be sustained throughout the year.

Of those suburbs in high demand include leafy Warrandyte in the City of Manningham, which topped the list of the 10 most in-demand suburbs in Australia. Eltham (4) and Eltham North (10) from the Nillumbik Shire also graced the report’s top 10 list, while Mitcham in the City of Whitehorse ranked in ninth position on the list of the top 10 in-demand suburbs for units in Victoria.
