Decorating your home with textured throws on beds and armchairs, plump quilts on beds, plush robes and towels in the bathrooms, warm-hued rugs in living areas and colours that reflect the winter season help to add personality on a dreary day.

If you own a fireplace, having a roaring fire going creates emotion and atmosphere, but if you don’t have a fireplace, turning on the ducted heating — or any form of heating inside the home — also helps to create a cosy atmosphere throughout. Be sure to extend the warmth outside by turning on your alfresco’s outdoor heater (or outdoor fireplace if you have one) and show buyers how the space can be utilised in winter.
