This October marked a momentous occasion for the Barry Plant Group, as they celebrated the 10-year anniversary of their partnership with Make-A-Wish Australia. For a decade, their 'Wishtober' initiative has exemplified community spirit, compassion, and generosity.

To the great pride of everyone in the Barry Plant network, the Wishtober campaign recently reached the significant milestone of raising over $1 million to help bring life-changing wishes to children facing critical illnesses.

Since 2014, Barry Plant has been dedicated to making a difference through Wishtober, pledging a portion of every property sold in October to Make-A-Wish® Australia. What began as a commitment to give back has grown into an inspiring movement within the network, with more than all Barry Plant offices uniting each year to support critically ill children across Australia.

This year’s Wishtober held extra meaning as the group reflects on 10 years of partnership. Together with Make-A-Wish Australia, Barry Plant has helped grant wishes that bring joy, hope, and strength to countless children and their families. From backyard clubhouses to ice-castle cubbies, the stories of these children continue to motivate the offices to do more.

Barry Plant’s commitment to raising $1 million for Make-A-Wish Australia has now been fulfilled – a milestone that speaks volumes about the generosity of the network’s clients, agents, and the wider community.

Every property sold in October over the past decade has contributed to this remarkable achievement, and the team is deeply grateful to everyone who played a part in reaching this goal.

But the journey doesn’t stop here. As they celebrated this milestone, the Barry Plant team looked forward to what’s next. Wishtober continued in 2024, and with it came a renewed commitment to continue raising funds to make even more wishes come true.

Barry Plant CEO Lisa Pennell described the partnership with Make-A-Wish Australia as ‘incredibly rewarding.’

“Reaching this $1 million milestone is a testament to the strength of our network and the generosity of our community,” she said.

“We’re grateful for 10 years of making a difference and are excited about what the future holds as we continue to support this incredible cause.”

Make-A-Wish Australia grants life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses, providing hope and joy during some of life’s most challenging moments. As Barry Plant embarks on this next chapter, the network is excited to continue supporting Make-A-Wish Australia and to help make more wishes come true.

Reflecting on this partnership, the CEO of Make-A-Wish Australia, Sally Bateman, said, “This Wishtober marks 10 years of an incredible partnership between Barry Plant and Make-A-Wish Australia.”

“With record numbers of new applications into our Wish program over the past year, Barry Plant’s vital support continues to make an extraordinary impact in the community, allowing wish kids and their families to create moments to look forward to and memories that will last a lifetime,” she concluded.

Wishtober stands as a shining example of the power of partnership. With the entire Barry Plant network behind this mission, they look forward to raising the next $1 million and beyond.
