The network will once again raise funds to help grant the wishes of children facing critical illnesses, having passed the million-dollar milestone in its overall contributions during last year’s efforts.

Barry Plant has announced it will be holding its annual Wishtober event next month, in benefit of the children’s charity Make-A-Wish Australia.

Through the initiative, a portion of the commission from every property sold in October will be donated to the children’s charity to support the organisation’s mission to “bring hope and joy to children facing critical illnesses”.

These funds most recently enabled Make-A-Wish Australia to grant the wish of eight-year-old Sammy, who has been diagnosed with pleuropulmonary blastoma, and “couldn’t stop smiling” when she was presented with her dream of an ice-castle playhouse.

Barry Plant representative Kashka Hardy later met Sammy and her family to provide “extra goodies” for the new playhouse and stated that “being part of something so meaningful is a real privilege”.

“Seeing the joy and impact of Sammy’s wish in-person really highlighted the importance of Wishtober, it makes you proud to be a part of a network that values the initiative so much,” he said.

With the network’s initiative having raised over $1 million in support of Make-A-Wish Australia over the past decade, Barry Plant stated that this year’s funds would continue to help grant “life-changing wishes” for children facing critical illnesses.

In reflecting on this partnership, the CEO of Make-A-Wish Australia, Sally Bateman, said: “This Wishtober marks 10 years of incredible partnership between Barry Plant and Make-A-Wish Australia.”

“With record numbers of new applications into our Wish program over the past year, Barry Plant’s vital support continues to make an extraordinary impact in the community, allowing wish kids and their families to create moments to look forward to and memories which will last a lifetime,” she concluded.
