Summer real estate market shines in Northcote and Preston
If you thought the end of the Spring real estate market would herald a slowing down of activity in Melbourne’s inner-north, this week’s results would clearly say otherwise. Indeed, the official start of Summer has produced some outstanding sales results in Northcote and Preston this week, adding a great deal of sunshine to the lives of both vendors and buyers as they head towards the end of the year.
One of this week’s notable sales involved an elevated 3-bedroom home on a generous allotment of just under 700sqm of land at 25 Mount Street, Preston. Offering a bright interior with plenty of flexibility, this property included a double garage and a bungalow, whilst the location put you within minutes of trams, buses, schools and the popular HP Zwar Reserve.
Most of the interest in this one came from builders and developers who saw real potential in the site and location, whilst others were more focused on the potential for renovation and extension. In the end, a competitive auction produced an outstanding sale at $1.05 million. As you can see from the photo, everyone seemed very pleased with the result.
Another result that got people talking was the mid-week sale that our team negotiated at 132A Gladstone Avenue, Northcote. This stylish contemporary 4-bedroom home offered two bathrooms, excellent alfresco entertaining, a quality kitchen where stone and stainless steel prevailed, and excellent views. Of course, the location was also a strong attraction, with the trams a matter of seconds away, the Merri Creek parklands within a few minutes’ walk, plus easy access to thriving High Street and that all-important zoning to Northcote High.
Again, all the parties seemed very please once a strong seven-figure sale was finalised during the week.
